How Long Does a Root Canal Procedure Take?

Team Root Canal

Teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments we offer because stains and yellowing are common complaints patients have about their teeth. Most of us deal with discolored teeth at some point in our lives, whether due to tobacco use, aging, staining foods and beverages, or medications. The good news is that teeth whitening is fast, non-invasive, and effective. Below, we answer some of the most frequently asked questions patients have about teeth whitening.

What does teeth whitening cost in the Akron area?

There are several professional teeth whitening systems available these days, which means the pricing can vary from one practice to the next depending on the products they use. Here at Aurora Dental, we offer the Opalescence Go whitening system or custom-made trays with professional quality whitening gel with our Whitening for Life program.

You’ll pay a one-time membership fee of $129 and as long as you keep up-to-date with your preventive care and provide us with a minimum of 24 hours notice when you need to reschedule an appointment, you’ll receive complimentary teeth whitening and touch-up kits. Most of our patients opt to join our Whitening for Life program rather than paying for teeth whitening treatments.

What is the best whitener for your teeth?

Both Opalescence Go and custom whitening trays are fantastic options for whitening your teeth, so choosing the best solution comes down to your personal preferences. Opalescence Go uses pre-filled whitening trays for your convenience, while custom-made trays are made just for you and fit snugly against your teeth. We can help you decide between the two systems when you come in for your next appointment.

Is professional teeth whitening worth it?

Yes, professional teeth whitening is worth it. It’s much more effective than store-bought teeth bleaching kits, as the products we offer are stronger; this means they also work faster. Over-the-counter teeth whitening options are best used for very mild surface stains.

Is teeth whitening covered by dental insurance?

No, teeth whitening is considered a cosmetic treatment, so it’s not covered by dental insurance.

What is the safest form of teeth whitening?

Professional teeth whitening is safer than DIY whitening solutions. Some of the whitening products found online are unregulated and potentially unsafe. Even products that have the ADA seal are only safe when used as directed. Because they’re designed for treating only mild stains, many people use them more frequently than directed or for longer periods of time, which can cause sensitivity, irritation, and damage to the enamel.

How long does teeth whitening last?

The beauty of our Whitening for Life program is that your teeth whitening will last as long as you’re a member! You’ll get unlimited touch-up kits, which means you’ll be able to maintain your brighter smile.
